As if I didnt have enough on my plate (yup thats me lol), I have become a consultant with a company called For Every Home.
For Every Home makes things that make your home smell wonderful (I’m a sucker for candles) They also have green products for cleaning your home. And so as part of my business kickoff, Im holding a giveaway.
In honor of the season, Im giving away a Peppermint Holiday Ceramic Soy based candle. This candle retails for $14.00. This candle has a sharp and minty smell. And as you know peppermint soothes and promotes concentration. Ohhhhh! Ahhhhhh! lol
This is a rafflecopter giveaway and will run from Dec 2 thru Dec 13 (My birthday!)
Recently, while on Facebook, I saw a opportunity to do a review of Blogging Success: Tips for Creating Content, Getting Traffic and Monetizing Your Blog by Holly Reisem Hanna. She is the owner of The Work At Home Women and I was one of the lucky ones who got picked as a reviewer.
Thanks Holly! Now on to the book!
After reading this e-book, I became more determined to make some changes to my own site and will do so with the advice written in this book. This book is more like a conversational how to book but provides you with enough detail step by step to turn your bogging into a money making business.
Section one is about creating content and contains everything from sharing your point of view, to defining your niche to having the right hosting (no free sites if you want to have a serious money making blog) to letting you true personality shine through your posts. The “best advice in this section is “blogging is not a get rich quick sport”
Section two is all about getting traffic for you blog. This section covers using word of mouth, social media, email newsletter and even using HARO to get your voice heard and bring them to your blog.
Section three covers monetization techniques (btw, this is the section that really got my attention). In here you will find advice how to use your blog to make money. The best advice in this section…use different venues to bring advertisers and traffic to your blog. But of course your have to do the work in the other sections to make sure that you have the right amount of traffic that the advertisers seek.
And I learned about using Alexa, Sitemap, of course SEO, using ad networks (I had no idea what this was before) and treating my blog like a business by not using free sites and having one that’s self hosted (yup I want this to help start paying the bills). It also covers the advice of tying your name to your blog and meeting other bloggers by attending events, either live or online, as much as you can, reading business books and the like.
Overall, this was a great read and EXTREMELY helpful. I think that only thing that was missing was a section on vlogging but I guess that will be in her next e-book.
You, as either a newbie to blogging or a established blogger, should add this to your collection of books on your e-reader or download it like I did and go to town on it with your highlighter.
Holly is offering all the readers of my blog $10 off her e-book. (Nice!) You can go to http://www.theworkathomewoman.com/products/ and use “THANKS” at checkout for your discount.
Disclaimer: I was given a copy of Blogging Success: Tips for Creating Content, Getting Traffic and Monetizing Your Blog to read and work on this review. The opinions of this post are mine. And I was in no other way compensated for this review.
I should have mentioned in my other post that I have started my own Virtual Assistant business but it will be more focused on VBA services.
But what is a Virtual Assistant?
Well … its pretty simple. A VA is someone who could work in your office handling your administrative stuff but work remotely.
Pretty cool huh?
So thats part I have started…got a website and everything. Its over at www.bayareava.info
Soon I will be making changes and making it more Bankruptcy attorney assistant-ish (Is thats a word? )
